The premiere opens the season's central case: a murder in the American heartland that shouldn't be possible — and shouldn't be Lantern business. Veteran Green Lantern Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), far from his Corps glory days, is pulled into the investigation alongside newly inducted Lantern John Stewart (Aaron Pierre), a disciplined ex-Marine who has zero interest in being Hal's protégé.
As the two clash over method and jurisdiction, the trail leads to the Macon family — Will (Garret Dillahunt), Zoe (Poorna Jagannathan) and their circle — and to Sheriff Kerry Kane (Kelly Macdonald), the local law who knows this town's secrets better than anyone. The Pilot sets the tone for the whole season: a slow-burn detective story wearing a superhero ring.
